Boy don’t we all know how hard it can be to entertain a toddler sometimes! Salt dough is a fantastic activity for children of all ages, it helps them learn different textures and lets them get creative.
How to make salt dough:
2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup salt, 3/4 cup water, 2 tbsps. vegetable oil.
It’s as simple as pouring all of the ingredients into a mixing bowl and stirring them all together until it gains a dough consistency!
You can choose to store the dough in an air tight container to be re-used, or to air dry anything your children make with it in the over on a low but warm temperature.
The great thing about salt dough is your little ones can enjoy it from start to finish. They’ll enjoy mixing it all together, kneading it and rolling it out once it’s forms the dough consistency.
Children can make so many things with it, we chose to make two little plaques for daddy using Amelias hand prints and Lillys footprints!
I then dried them out in the oven on roughly 100 degrees (fan assisted) for around an hour. We then painted them ready for daddy coming home from work! (No photo unfortunately as they’re now safely away in a storage box as we have nowhere to hang them).
